Legacy of spades

Anthurium Legacy of Spades is a selected line from Ace of Spades (Dark Form) × Red Dark Phoenix. Ace of Spades Dark Form has long been a legendary name among collectors for its matte-black foliage. According to Tezula, fewer than 5% of its selfed seedlings may develop the desired “true dark” phenotype, something our own breeding experience has also shown to be extremely rare.

Within this hybrid batch, we discovered selected plants that exceeded our expectations. They retain the iconic leaf shape and venation of Ace of Spades, with only subtle influence from Red Dark Phoenix, while developing an exceptionally deep black tone that can appear even darker than the seed parent. Their veins mature into a striking purple-black.

We named this selected line Legacy of Spades, a reflection of what careful hybridizing, repeated selection, and patience can reveal across generations.
