Anthurium Michelle is one of Docblock’s best-known breeding lines, named after Dr. Jeff Block’s wife and awarded Best New Flowering Plant at TPIE 2022. Its development traces back to a dark Anthurium magnificum accession associated with Tim Anderson of Daisy Farms. Through several generations and thousands of seedling selections, Docblock refined the line for color, form, and vigour.

Michelle is recognized for its rounded velvet leaves, vivid burgundy-purple emergent color, and striking veins. As the leaves mature, their coloration evolves through deep black tones before settling into dark green with contrasting white venation. The distinctive X-shaped vein pattern near the petiole further enhances its identity.

With its strong coloration, balanced form, and vigour, Anthurium Michelle is also a valuable parent for creating exceptional new hybrids.
