Red vein dark phoenix

Anthurium Red Vein Dark Phoenix (RVDP) is a named selection created by Thai breeder Jeera Jukmongkol of Siam Flora. It originated from a 2019 cross between Anthurium papillilaminum Variegata as the mother plant and Anthurium Ace of Spades as the pollen donor.

Five distinctive plants from this batch received individual names. Red Dark Phoenix and the better-known Red Vein Dark Phoenix are separate sibling selections, both later marketed by Thai Exotic. Despite its similar name, Red Dark Phoenix is not genetically related to the Indonesian Dark Phoenix.

RDP is valued for its deep velvet foliage and warm red accents. These characteristics also make it a promising parent for creating dark Anthurium hybrids with expressive colored veins.
