Zara F4

Anthurium Zara by Docblock is a familiar name among collectors. The original Zara mother plant became known for its signature T-shaped venation, vivid red veins, and intense coloration. However, the original plant was never commercially released by Docblock as a clone. The Zara plants available on the market are seed-grown descendants developed through selections and crosses between later-generation Zara parents.

Our plant was purchased through The Rare Plant Fairy, a sales partner of Docblock at that time. It was offered under the name “Zara F4” rather than “Zara × Zara,” while the new Docblock tag supplied with it did not record the parent names or numbers. We therefore retain the name Zara F4 for identification and traceability, although we cannot confirm the exact parent numbers or why this designation was originally used.

This selection remains one of our favorites for its T-shaped pattern, purple veins, black foliage, unusually thick venation, and numerous secondary veins. It has also produced many impressive hybrids in our breeding program.
